Fully 50% of Americans say they have tried cannabis, according to a new Gallup poll.
The research firm said that figure is at an all-time high after coming in at 48% last year and 49% the year before.
Gallup pointed out a higher percentage of Democrats said they have tried cannabis as compared to Republicans.
The results also showed that the highest percentage of current cannabis users are in the 18-34 age bracket.
Certain cannabis consumption habits are also becoming more popular with Americans.
Gallup said 17% of survey respondents this year said they smoke cannabis, up from 16% one year ago.
The firm said the percentage of cannabis smokers has more than doubled since 2013.
