The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (MMCP) yesterday issued a voluntary product recall on plant material products sold to dispensaries by cultivator, Green Investment Partners (GIP). The recall affects Tangie Power plant material for vaporization sold beginning November 29, 2022 at seven different dispensaries in the state, including:

  • Sunnyside Cincinnati
  • Ethos Ohio (formerly About Wellness Ohio) Lebanon
  • Pure Ohio Wellness Dayton
  • Sunnyside Marion
  • Sunnyside Newark
  • Sunnyside Wintersville
  • Verdant Creations Columbus

GIP initiated the recall after informing MMCP that certain batches of medical marijuana plant material didn't pass all state-required laboratory testing prior to distribution and sale to patients.

Specifically, the recalled products do not meet state testing requirements for total yeast and mold.

The MMCP hasn't received any reports of adverse patient reactions. Patients who have purchased the recalled product should stop using it and return all unused product to the dispensary where purchased.

Returned products will not count toward a patient’s 90-day possession limit.

The investigation is ongoing and MMCP will issue an executive summary once it is concluded.

The recall impacts the following product IDs:

  • M00000280205: Tier 2 Vap - Hybrid - 23.3 - 0 - Tangie Power - 2.83
  • M00000280207: Tier 2 Vap - Hybrid - 23.3 - 0 - Tangie Power - 14.15
