Connecticut, one of the newest recreational cannabis markets in the U.S., is down to just one cannabis testing facility.

According to the New Haven Register, AltaSci Labs only two months after the state began recreational cannabis sales in January. A representative from the state’s Department of Consumer Protection told the publication that AltaSci’s license was changed to inactive and that the company’s accreditation had been suspended. The closure was not related to any disciplinary action.

However, state officials told the publication the closure has not had a negative impact on the availability of medical or recreational cannabis in Connecticut.

Now Northeast Laboratories will be solely responsible for testing all cannabis products in the state. And interested parties seem worried about capacity as Connecticut’s cannabis market expands.
