Aurora Cannabis today announced the completion of a major expansion of its facility in Leuna, Germany.

The expanded facility has increased cultivation capacity while improving product quality, consistency and operational efficiency, strengthening the facility's role in serving Aurora's growth in Europe.

To commemorate the site's transformation and expanded role in Aurora's global EU-GMP manufacturing network, the facility has been renamed Aurora Horizon, a name selected by the local team.

"The completion of our Leuna facility transformation is an important milestone for Aurora and reinforces our commitment to serving patients in our fastest-growing markets, including Germany, where we are proud to be a domestic manufacturer," said Alex Miller, EVP, Operations and Supply Chain at Aurora. "Now known as Aurora Horizon, the EU GMP-licensed facility strengthens our ability to serve patients in Germany, while advancing our broader European growth strategy. By bringing Aurora's proven cultivation and operational expertise and industry-leading genetics to Leuna, we have significantly advanced the site and our ability to drive growth in the region."

The expanded facility has recently been granted an expanded EU-GMP license for the newly built areas of the site, issued by the State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Health of Saxony-Anhalt, and will support dynamic job creation within the local vicinity.

The transformation of Aurora Horizon involved implementing the company's cultivation practices and methodologies, including lighting, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest processes, to ensure consistent and high-quality output. Aurora Horizon has successfully adopted Aurora's leading proprietary genetics from the company's global R&D facility, Aurora Coast in British Columbia, Canada.

As a result, the facility is already meeting the high-performance thresholds of other sites within Aurora's network. The additional capacity is expected to help Aurora meet growing demand for high-quality medical cannabis in Germany and across European markets, while improving supply chain resilience and operational efficiency. As one of only three in country producers, we are uniquely positioned to continue to contribute with cultivation and manufacturing job creation in the Saxony-Anhalt region.
