Ohio Reports $963.9 Million in Total Product Sales

The state also published updated patient and caregiver numbers.

The cannabis market in Ohio is growing. On Monday, the state's Medical Marijuana Control Program updated the state's sales figures.

Ohio has experienced $963.9 million in product sales from 7,287,128 total receipts. Some 112,950 pounds of plant material have been transformed into 10,384,670 units of manufactured product.

The average plant sale is $24.59 per 1/10oz and $8.69 per gram.

The state's Board of Pharmacy also published updated patient and caregiver numbers for July 2022.

The state now has 30,676 registered caregivers and 293,579 registered patients. Of those patients:

  • 18,433 patients have veteran status
  • 19,852 patients have indigent status
  • 1,138 patients have a terminal diagnosis

Some 271,561 unique patients have purchased medical marijuana.

House Bill 523, effective on September 8, 2016, legalized medical marijuana in Ohio. The Medical Marijuana Control Program allows people with certain medical conditions, upon the recommendation of an Ohio-licensed physician certified by the state medical board, to purchase and use medical marijuana.
