Frontier Risk, a specialty insurance company focused on emerging markets, today announced the launch of the first on-premise insurance program designed specifically for venues and live events offering hemp-derived THC beverages.
Low-dose THC beverages are quickly becoming a popular alcohol alternative, yet most general and liquor liability policies do not address the unique exposures associated with their on-premise service. From bars and restaurants to stadiums and festivals, hospitality businesses have been unable to find adequate coverage—until now.
Frontier Risk's new program offers tailored protection to meet this growing need.
"Hospitality leaders are eager to innovate and meet consumer demand, but they
can't afford uncertainty around on-premise THC beverage service," said Peter
Berg, Chief Development Officer at Frontier Risk. "Our program empowers
venues and event operators to deliver exceptional guest experiences while managing risk responsibly."
Two Flexible Coverage Options
- Annual On-Premise Policy – For year-round establishments such as restaurants, bars, hotels, stadiums, and arenas incorporating hemp-derived THC beverages into their regular service.
- Live-Event Policy – Designed for one-off or short-term activations, including concerts, festivals, sporting events, conferences, and pop-ups, where THC beverages are sold or sampled.
The coverage integrates easily with existing general and liquor liability programs, and higher limits are available for larger or high-traffic venues.
Integrated Risk-Management Support
Each policy comes with Frontier Risk's built-in risk management toolkit, including:
- Recommended signage
- Impairment mitigation protocols
- Staff training guidelines
Policyholders also gain access to a quarterly report on market trends, claims scenarios, and underwriting developments in the THC beverage space.
