Colorado Cannabis Sales Continue to Slide

With the sales decline comes a decrease in tax revenue.

Colorado released its latest cannabis sales and tax revenue figures and they show a continued slide.

The state reported approximately $142 million in cannabis sales during October.

That brought Colorado’s total for 2022 so far up to just shy of $1.5 billion.

That figure is well behind the $2.29 billion in sales it had amassed through the same time period in 2021.

Colorado has now seen its lowest total cannabis sales through September since 2017.

With sales slowing, cannabis tax revenue has also decreased. The state so far this year has taken in $302 million, down from $423 million by the same time last year.

The state’s ongoing declines since the peaks reached during the pandemic is reflective of overall cannabis demand across the country.
