Colorado Recalls Moldy, Untested Cannabis

The recall affected nearly 200 batches.

The Colorado Departments of Revenue and Public Health are recalling several batches of medical cannabis.

The nearly 200 batches, some more than one year old, contain “potentially unsafe levels of total yeast and mold and aspergillus.”

The cannabis flower was produced by SDJ, LLC, which does business as The Living Rose.

Colorado officials said the medical cannabis was not submitted for testing in accordance with state rules.

Nine batches were recalled for total yeast and mold contamination and another 19 were recalled for aspergillus contamination.

The vast majority of recalled medical cannabis batches had not been tested.

The state has asked consumers to destroy or return any affected cannabis and to seek medical attention if they experience adverse health effects.
