Man Sues Cannabis Company Over Alleged THC-Fueled Psychosis

The company's vapes allegedly drove him to pretend he was a famous rapper.

A new lawsuit targeting cannabis company Stiiizy claims that its high-THC products caused a man to experience cannabis psychosis.

The unnamed plaintiff, who was a teen at the time, said he was driven to Stiiizy’s vape products by a combination of peer pressure and the company’s marketing.

While Stiiizy’s products contain warnings against underage individuals using the products, the plaintiff said the labels don’t warn about the possibility of psychosis.

In a statement to Law360, Stiiizy said it follows all California packaging regulations and that it doesn’t market its products to minors.

The plaintiff alleges Stiiizy’s products led him to steal his father’s truck, drive to San Francisco with no driver’s license or phone, and pretend to be a celebrity rapper.

He unsuccessfully tried to board a plane at the airport before traveling into San Francisco to try to obtain free jewelry before returning to the airport.

Airport police found him sleeping in his truck and placed him under a 72-hour psychiatric hold.
