Entexs manufacturers automated extraction equipment designed to streamline the entire process by combining each step of the process in an in-line closed-loop system. While the company typically makes large scale machines that can process up to 18,000 pounds of biomass per day, Entexs CTO John Davis says customers have been asking for low-scale systems that can run 100-200 pounds per day.
At MJBizCon 2024, the company was showcasing its Mini 1, a fully automated end-to-end ethanol extraction solution that operators can put 100 pounds of biomass in one end and refined distillate comes out on the other end.
Davis says his equipment is simple to operate, it basically "runs itself." Though the company has massive equipment, it's not easy to scale down and the Mini 1 took a large R&D effort to make it happen.
According to Davis, Entexs has a lot of new products in the works, including a near infrared sensor that can detect THC and CBD molecules. The new tool can track the molecules in real time, and stands to make a big impact on production and quality.
Davis says the cannabis industry has matured to a point where real businesses are generating real profits. While some companies have come and gone with the green rush, the mature industry has real players who need quality equipment and solutions for the market.
