Illinois-based cannabis brand nuEra is partnering with a Chicago icon, Jeppson's Malört, for the Chicago HIGH Five, a cannabis-infused take on the infamous wormwood liqueur, launching April 16 at all nuEra locations.
The two companies have reimagined the "notorious digestif" as a non-alcoholic, THC-infused shot, offering a new twist on the "Chicago Handshake" (a Malört shot with an Old Style chaser). Chicago HIGH Five replicates Malört's distinct flavor while delivering a dose of cannabis extract in a 1.75 oz bottle in 10mg and 25mg versions, priced at $6 and $14, respectively.
The Chicago HIGH Five will be available at all nuEra retail dispensaries and a select number of cannabis dispensaries around Illinois. But it's not available outside of Illinois.
nuEra Cannabis is an Illinois-born, family-owned and operated vertically-integrated cannabis business. Jeppson's Malört is named after Carl Jeppson, the Swedish immigrant who first distilled and popularized the distinctive liqueur in Chicago in the 1920s and throughout Prohibition.
Update: There's been a delay in the nuEra and Jeppson's Malört collaboration and the Chicago HIGH Five will not be available on 4/20 as originally planned.
