Nebraska's Medical Cannabis Commission is requesting input from cannabis product manufacturers for a listening session to aid the Commission in finalizing regulations related to manufacturing licensing.

At this meeting, the Commission will host invited potential product manufacturers, who will give input on product manufacturing for each type of cannabis product in the regulations. The Commission said it may ask questions after the speaker’s opening.

Each invited speaker should be prepared to discuss best practices for ensuring patient safety in the manufacturing process for each type of cannabis product listed in the regulations.

Each invited speaker will have three minutes to deliver opening remarks about their expertise in the product manufacturing industry and best practices for manufacturing cannabis. The Commission aims to have a diverse group of product manufacturers speak to help it in finalizing regulations with precise industry standards.

The meeting comes after Nebraska said it would maintain its current cannabis regulations despite numerous objections, according to WOWT.

The state is taking a cautious approach to medical cannabis, starting with only two approved cultivators with only 1,250 plants each per harvest.
