Pennsylvania Liquor Regulators Reverse Position on CBD Sales

Beer and wine sellers won’t be able to sell CBD products after all.

Beer and wine sellers in Pennsylvania won’t be able to also sell products containing cannabidiol after all.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board voted last week to reverse decisions that would have permitted CBD sales, the AP reports.

CBD, a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis, available in a wide range of products for its purported therapeutic benefits.

The liquor board allowed all Pennsylvania retailers to sell CBD after a convenience store chain initially received permission.

Late last year, the board also permitted beer distributors to sell CBD products.

But the state Department of Agriculture subsequently asked the board to rescind those decisions.

Agency officials reportedly told the liquor board that those sales are considered illegal under Pennsylvania law.
