A medical cannabis facility inadvertently turned the night sky pink in Mildura, a city near Melbourne, Australia.
The light show attracted the attention of nearby residents and sparked one news anchor to call it “aurora marijuanis.”
Instead of a natural phenomenon, the pink glow actually came from the Cann Group’s new facility.
CEO Peter Crock said his company was testing the LED lighting system in a new grow room.
But the blackout curtains that normally keep the light from getting out didn’t function as planned.
A security guard for Cann had noticed the glow during his shift and saw vehicles pulling up to the facility to get a better look.
The facility, in a previously undisclosed location, will serve as a major supplier for Australia’s medical cannabis market.
