Pennsylvania Seeks Marketing Help to Boost Hemp Sales

The state is offering $200,000 in grants to increase consumer awareness.

Pennsylvania is seeking help from marketers and promotion organizations to boost its hemp market.

The state is offering $200,000 in grants for projects aimed at increasing sales, export or consumer awareness of its hemp products.

Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding said hemp can supply “seemingly limitless” sustainable construction materials, fiber and food products.

"These grants will feed a new industry that was once a staple of Pennsylvania's economy and is again presenting opportunities for farm income and jobs," he said.

Pennsylvania said it will give special consideration to projects that use other funding or public-private partnerships.

This is not the first time Pennsylvania’s agriculture department has sought marketing help for hemp.

In 2021, the department awarded more than $157,000 through the program to three projects to increase consumer awareness of hemp.
