Topless Cannabis Dispensary Proposed in Massachusetts

It's a novel approach to distribution.

A pair of property owners in Massachusetts have proposed converting their strip club into a topless cannabis dispensary.

Club Castaway closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now it’s looking to reopen with a different theme.

According to WWLP.com, the owners are looking to purchase a cannabis provisional license while removing licenses for alcohol and nude dancing.

Nicholas Spagnola told the Town of Whately Selectboard he’s confident many of Club Castaway’s former dancers would be interested in working at the topless dispensary.

“We’re confident we can create the protocol to create a safe working environment like we did at Castaways,” he said.

A selectboard member said there are still lots of legal questions surrounding the proposal but declined to offer any feedback.

The owners said the topless cannabis dispensary could eventually add a consumption lounge if that becomes an option in the state.
