It’s high tide after a “large amount” of cannabis recently washed ashore in Florida.
The Neptune Beach Police Department late last month shared photos showing waterlogged cannabis buds lining one of the local beaches.
Officials determined the cannabis likely broke out of its package and separated at sea.
Neptune Beach PD warned beachgoers against turning the discovery into a “treasure hunt.”
“After floating in the ocean for some time, the marijuana has quickly begun to degrade and rot,” it wrote in a Facebook post.
Medical cannabis is legal in Florida but recreational cannabis, including pot that floated in from the ocean, is still illegal.
