Ohio Governor Opposes Recreational Cannabis

“This is not your grandparents’ marijuana."

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is clearing the air on his views regarding recreational cannabis legalization in his state.

Residents of Ohio get to vote in November on rules that would allow people 21 and older to use recreational cannabis.

But DeWine warned, according to WSYX, that doing so would be a “real mistake.”

He told the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board that he visited Colorado shortly after it legalized recreational cannabis.

DeWine called it an “unmitigated disaster” and expressed concern over the rise in children accidentally ingesting cannabis in the state.

“This is not your grandparents’ marijuana,” he warned, pointing out the potency of cannabis available today.
