A cannabis pizzeria in Philadelphia has reopened but with a new twist on how it incorporates weed into its operations.
Stoned Pizza was shut down in May after city officials determined the business was lacking some important licenses.
The restaurant originally intended to serve THC-infused pizza.
But now it’s reopened as Pizza Pusha and instead of putting pot in the pies, it will just let its customers bring their own.
“Just like a regular pizzeria, except you’re able to bring weed and smoke at the table,” owner Chris Barrett told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
However, letting customers smoke cannabis inside a restaurant runs afoul of Philadelphia’s Clean Indoor Air Act.
Barrett argued those rules only pertain to tobacco. He also said Pizza Pusha would be reservations only, ostensibly making the establishment a non-public space.
