Cannabis Companies are Beginning to Offer Public Tours

Visitors need to wear protective equipment and go through a decontamination process.

Cannabis companies in Michigan are taking a page out of the brewery book and offering behind-the-scenes tours to the public.

According to the Detroit Free Press, several cannabis companies are embracing tours as a way to inform the public about cannabis and the industry surrounding it.

Karen Kekelik, co-owner of the microbusiness IndiGrow in Muskegon, told the publication that the tours help them show people they’re a “serious business.”

During tours, visitors need to wear protective equipment and go through a decontamination process.

After that, they’re able to tour the facility and see how cannabis progresses from early plant growth to the products that fill shelves in dispensaries.

“You get to see the lightbulb change when someone sees the possibilities of cannabis as a medicine and an alternative to alcohol," IndiGrow co-owner Steven Kekelik said.
