CEN at MJBizCon: High Pre-Roll Output in a Small Footprint

STM Canna's one-tray workflow can fill, weigh, close and infuse 72 pre-rolls in about a minute.

The Cannabis Equipment News team recently traveled to MJBizCon, held in Las Vegas from November 28 through December 1. At the show, we interviewed equipment manufacturers, cultivators, operators and new product developers to learn more about what they bring to the cannabis industry.

STM Canna debuted the Astro Infuser at MJBizCon 2023. The new infuser is one of few on the market that infuses multiple joints simultaneously. Operators can run the machine at any temperature, and it fits into the company's "one-tray workflow" design.

According to Charles Warner, CRO at STM Canna, all of the company's machines use a 72-count roll tray that can be moved from machine to machine to fill, weigh, close and infuse 72 pre-rolls in about a minute.

Using multiple trays, Warner says cannabis operators can employ a small team to run an assembly line through semi-automatic machines.

STM's machines have a small footprint, which is particularly important in an industry where about half of the operators have a small facility. To demonstrate the workflow's high output capabilities in a small footprint, Warner had all of STM's machines running in a 10-foot by 10-foot mock shop on the MJBizCon show floor.

Despite the small footprint, it's not just boutique operators using STM's machines. The concept is scalable and is currently being used by both small mom-and-pop shops and large MSOs.

Warner adds that STM's machines don't require compressed air to run or upgraded electrical equipment, and every device is made in the U.S.

STM has big plans for 2024, including adding new machines to the company's tech stack and bringing a new facility online.

The next MJBizCon will be held from December 3, 2024, through December 6, 2024, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
