Ohio Making Sure Opening Day for Cannabis Sales Is No Party

No live music. No decorations. No food trucks.

Ohio is getting closer to the official launch of adult-use recreational cannabis sales.

But the state is making sure that opening day won’t feel like a party at licensed dual-use medical/recreational dispensaries.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Ohio regulators have issued a list of prohibited activities for grand opening celebrations.

That includes no on-site consumption, no outside product displays, and no samples, infused or non-infused.

The state is also making sure there’s no music outside at the dispensaries along with no food trucks or any other food offered either for free or for sale.

The prohibitions also extend to celebratory decorations and ribbon-cutting ceremonies outside the building or in the parking lot.

However, dispensaries can still have ribbon cuttings, non-alcoholic beverages, product displays and music – as long as it’s not live – inside the building.
