Grassroots Cannabis grows, processes and sells cannabis through a vertically-integrated business model.
The company recently completed a 20,000-square-foot expansion of its cultivation center in Taneytown, MD.
The increased production capacity means up to 2.5-times more medical cannabis products will reach the Maryland market. The expansion will also provide jobs in the company's cultivation, processing, harvest, trim, packaging, sales and security departments.
Grassroots recently completed its first harvest, which should help alleviate recent product shortages within the state.
The company operates two dispensaries under the Herbology brand located in Gaithersburg and Westminster.
Grassroots now operates more than 250,000 square feet of growing and processing operations in Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, North Dakota and Pennsylvania.
