Budr Cannabis, a retailer with five locations—four in Connecticut (West Hartford, Tolland, Danbury, Stratford) and one in Yonkers, New York—is expanding its footprint with a trio of acquisitions.

The company has entered an agreement with The Botanist to buy three of its Connecticut dispensaries: The Botanist of Danbury, The Botanist of Montville, and The Botanist of Vernon. These locations will now operate under the Budr name.

“This venture reflects our ongoing dedication to growth while maintaining the highest standards of service and community involvement,” said Budr Founder Carl Tirella Jr. “By integrating these dispensaries with an experienced operator, Budr will not only expand its reach but also ensure that Connecticut residents  continue to have access to safe, reliable, and responsibly sourced cannabis products.”

The newly acquired locations will adopt Budr’s retail strategy that prioritizes education, product transparency, and personalized service.

The dispensary acquisitions come as Budr also looks to expand into cannabis production. According to News Times, the company is currently searching for a 10,000-square-foot warehouse space in Connecticut that can serve as a small-scale cultivation operation.

“Micro-cultivation is going to … put us in control of our distribution," said Tirella told the publication. “At the end of the day, we could be the second largest company in Connecticut, behind Fine Fettle, but first, integration is our priority; we want to make sure our customer experience second-to-none.”
