Washington's Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) will explore a pair of rule changes related to cannabis testing and transportation.
It filed a Pre-proposal Statement of Inquiry to consider testing requirements for heavy metals to be expanded to include all cannabis sold in licensed retail stores in Washington. Currently only Department of Health (DOH) medically compliant products are required to be tested for heavy metals.
It filed a separate inquiry to respond to a petition for rulemaking accepted by the Board in 2024. This petition requests allowing cannabis transportation licensees to temporarily store products at distribution fulfillment hubs.
