Suspected Smuggler Caught with Cannabis-Stuffed Teddy Bears

The stuffed animals were suspiciously heavy.

A suspected smuggler was recently caught trying to sneak cannabis into Israel using an unusual method.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the suspect was arrested at Ben Gurion Airport with Valentine’s Day teddy bears filled with cannabis seeds.

Authorities were alerted after discovering that the teddy bears in the man’s luggage were particularly heavy.

A search turned up about eight kilograms (17.6 pounds) of cannabis seeds.

Authorities said they would conduct further testing on the seeds. The suspect was arrested after questioning.

It is still officially illegal to possess or use cannabis in Israel.
