Michael Mejer, founder of Green Lane Communication, started in book publishing, doing public relations and earned media for authors. But after witnessing firsthand a patient's tremors fully subside after ingesting a tincture, he decided to jump into cannabis.
Before launching Green Lane, Mejer attended MJBizCon and learned that marketing and advertising for cannabis can be tricky. Through his discussions with CMOs and other marketing executives, he discovered that it's difficult for cannabis companies to build brand awareness and trust, especially through many paid channels. But he quickly realized that he can serve as a source for journalists and publications.
"Being able to fill that void and help connect those dots between the people that have the information and the people that are looking for it, that was a very clear sign for me that there's a big opportunity here and there's a big need that needs to be fulfilled," Mejer said.
The Cannabis Equipment News (CEN) team recently traveled to MJBizCon 2024 in Las Vegas from December 4 through December 6. At the show, we interviewed leaders from nearly every aspect of the industry. We didn't have time to interview everybody, so if we missed you, please reach out to [email protected]. MJBizCon 2025 is scheduled to be held from December 2, 2025, through December 5, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
