A man is suing a cannabis vape manufacturer and a dispensary after he alleges his vape pen exploded and burned him while he was naked.
According to Oregon Live, Gustavo Mendes said he was in the bathroom when the vape overheated and burst open, spraying chemicals onto his “eyes, torso and below his waist.”
He said the damage to his house totaled $20,000 while his medical bills totaled $3,000. He also said he had to leave his welding jobs due to the damage to his eyes.
Mendes is seeking $230,000 in total damages.
Oregon Live was unable to reach Quantum Alchemy, the company who made the vape pen, for comment. But it did get through to Hwy 99 Cannabis, the dispensary that sold it.
“There is no lawsuit, bud,” the retailer told the publication.
