Company at Center of Massive Cannabis Recall Loses Bid to Regain License

Regulators cited a “corporate culture of lax compliance with regulatory requirements.”

Delta Extraction, the company at the center of a massive cannabis product recall in Missouri, has lost an appeal to regain its operator license.

In 2023, the Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation issued a mandatory recall for more than 60,000 cannabis products it said weren’t properly tested or tracked.

Delta’s manufacturing license was revoked but the company participated in a hearing last year regarding an appeal.

Last week, an administrative hearing commission determined that Delta’s license should stay revoked, citing a “corporate culture of lax compliance with regulatory requirements.”

Delta’s violations included combining hemp-derived THC from other states with its cannabis products grown in Missouri.

The company also didn’t alert law enforcement immediately after someone stole its server, which the Missouri Independent said held the only copy of the company’s video surveillance files.
