β€˜Costco of Cannabis’ Closing After Repeated Break-Ins

PCM was known for carrying up to 10,000 pounds of cannabis product at any given time.

One of Oregon’s biggest dispensaries, nicknamed the β€œCostco of Cannabis,” is shutting down.

The Portland Cannabis Market (PCM), located in southeast Portland, will close its doors after seven years in business.

PCM CEO Cory Turner blamed the closure on repeated break-ins. He said the location has been robbed six or seven times since opening and it’s cost it and its farm partners $1.5 million.

PCM was known for carrying up to 10,000 pounds of cannabis product at any given time, making it an β€œall-you-can-eat buffet for a drug dealer that wants to rob us," said Turner.

Turner said the break-ins have led to only one suspect arrest, something he blamed on delayed response time from local law enforcement.

"On average it's been at least 50 minutes for them to show up to our facility. And as far as I know, the local precinct is six blocks away,” he said.
