Flourish Systems, a USA-based agtech company headquartered in Colorado, and Origine Nature today announced the expanded deployment of Flourish Systems' weight-based irrigation technology across Origine Nature's indoor cultivation operation.
The initiative is led at Origine Nature by Alexandre Gauthier, vice president of research and development. Gauthier oversees cultivation research, genetics, product innovation and the integration of new technologies. His approach combines the experience of skilled growers with ongoing plant-level data to improve quality, consistency and production performance.
Flourish Systems replaces point-in-time substrate measurements with continuous weight-based monitoring. By tracking changes in substrate mass, the platform gives cultivators greater visibility into plant water use, irrigation uptake, runoff, dryback and biomass-gain trends.
During one comparative test, an Origine Nature room using Flourish Systems recorded a 30% higher final dry weight of trimmed flower than the comparison room. This result was observed under specific test conditions and should not be interpreted as a validated or consistently repeatable yield increase. Origine Nature is continuing its testing to determine which variables contributed to the result and whether the performance can be reproduced.
A central objective of the collaboration is the continued development of tools that could estimate final crop yield three to four weeks before harvest based on biomass-gain trends and historical crop data. Earlier forecasting could provide cultivation, production, sales and inventory teams with more time to prepare for potential variations in supply.
The teams are also working toward reference-run functionality that would allow Origine Nature to define expected performance ranges from successful historical crops. Current runs could then be compared against those references to identify developing out-of-specification conditions, trigger investigations and notify the appropriate departments before harvest.
This approach is intended to help Origine Nature move from reacting to harvest outcomes toward proactively managing crop performance by identifying deviations earlier, supporting data-driven decisions and restoring consistency before issues affect final results.
