California Issues Pair of Cannabis Recalls

One voluntary and one mandatory.

California’s Department of Cannabis Control this week issued two cannabis product recalls, one voluntary and one mandatory.

Echsen Industries issued a voluntary recall for the presence of the pesticide Spiromesifen in Fog City Farms Shark Bites infused pre-rolls. Two additional pesticides for which the Department does not require testing, Cadusafos and Cyphenothrin, were also identified in the sample results.

The affected products were manufactured on June 28, 2023 and sold after July 17, 2023.

The DCC issued a mandatory recall for Gelato Orangeade hybrid cannabis flower due to the presence of Aspergillus flavus. The recall impacts products manufactured and packaged on July 12, 2023.
