At MJBizCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Cannatrol announced the recent release of the Cool Cure C2, which features improvements to shelving, airflow and connectivity based on customer feedback. The company added Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities to allow users to remotely monitor the drying, curing and storing of their cannabis. The C2 has a drying and curing capacity of 2.5 pounds when wet and a storage capacity of 4.5 pounds.
Cannatrol's Owner David Sandelman invented a patented precision drying, curing, and storage technology that uses vapor pressure to create an optimal post-harvest environment and eliminate inconsistent post-harvest results.
Sandelman also announced a new Cool Cure XL for larger operators. "Everyone has been saying the Cool Cure was too small and they needed more capacity, so we're introducing the XL, which takes four times the capacity of a standard Cool Cure," he said. Sandelman expects the XL to be available by the end of Q2 2026, possibly early Q3.
The company has also added the new DC2 to its product lineup, a midsized option designed to dry, cure and store 90 to 100 pounds of cannabis.
Cannatrol is "always maintaining our core technology [and] never sacrificing our patented technology, which is universal from our home unit to the largest commercial systems being shipped worldwide,” Sandelman said. “It's always that same science about water activity, bound and unbound water, which is going to get you to a shelf-stable product consistently. We like to call it 'sous vide for weed'."
Sandelman added that industry technology has "always been focused on a bigger, better plant, but no one has really spent much time on post-harvest. Think about the wine industry. You can grow amazing vineyards, but what are you going to do with those grapes if you don't have proper post-harvest for winemaking?"
He said the methodology is the same in cannabis: If you don't handle the flower properly, post-harvest, you can wind up with a terrible product.
"We're giving the industry the ability to turn those amazing plants that they've been growing into a really fine finished product," Sandelman said.
Facilities are losing as much as 10% of topline revenue because they are over-drying flower, Sandelman said. As a result, ROI for Cannatrol's technology is measured in months, enabling immediate contribution to the bottom line.
