At MJBizCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Jeremy Peterson, technical manager and applications engineer at High Tek USA, showed off the company's new Gummy Counter, which can count products like individually wrapped gummies or pills. The machine is ideal for filling packages based on piece count rather than weight, a first for High Tek USA, according to Peterson.
Peterson said the cannabis industry continues to grow in sophistication, and he is seeing increased adoption of automation and robotics. He has also seen a surge in demand for accurate analytics and data collection, likely as AI has emerged as a tool to find insights in otherwise nebulous big data.
High Tek USA focuses on speed and accuracy, which are important as the industry's ongoing maturation has ushered many of the "tire kickers" out, leaving only major players looking to make big moves.
